A ceasefire, seemingly calm and secure, is yet always
inviolved with a collapse; it speaks of instability,
insecurity, and a fleeting, temporary stability. A
ceasefire can be described by its small instabilities
and exemplified through familiar stories. Although a
ceasefire is the brief period after a war, for us, it is a
familiar experience—one of no short standing, and one
that exists even in the absence of war
