What highlights Hannah Jaloo’s paintings in this collection is, above all, the influence of the architectural idea of ​​replacing and placing human habitation in the context of nature. Her compositions often represent cubic geometric units, alone or in combination, as if scattered across the surface of the image in response to the need to position oneself in order to construct and be located in natural geography.
In translating such an idea into the language of painting, she avoids the realism – and, consequently, the refinement in terms of form and color – that is seen in Hananeh’s works, without completely distancing itself from the manifestation of distance, is approaching the limits of abstraction.
In her paintings, simple lines form surfaces that can be distinguished only by the use of often pure colors, yet they are well able to evoke the subject for the viewer; Structures/structures such as houses, bridges, roads, civilization,… which are defined in relation to their natural environment such as mountains, hills, plains, rivers, etc … .
